Job Description

As an intern for IoT research engineer, the candidate will focus on developing a hardware and software pipeline for the following tasks:

  • Portable image capture system which is aimed at capturing high quality product images (2D/3D RGB) in varying lighting conditions.
  • Design of this image capture system. This also includes the portable system enclosure design.
  • Sensor selection for the system – which sensors are most optimal for the given constraints. Potential list of sensors includes RGB camera(s), rotation mechanism, lights, and computing device(s) like Raspberry Pi.
  • Development of software pipeline for capturing, storing, and transmitting the images. Using python and OpenCV, create software to autonomously capture, process, and transmit 2D RGB images to the cloud

Qualifications

  • Able to work full time for a minimum period of 6 months (i.e., Nov 2023 onwards, to be discussed)
  • Undergraduate/graduate studies in the related field of Machine Vision from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
  • Knowledge in Computer Vision, 2D/3D IoT sensors, image processing libraries like OpenCV.
  • Good programming skills in Python
  • Independent learning and self-motivated
