Job Description

The appointee will participate in experimental & data analytics (AI/ML) activities for the development of an intelligent anomaly detection system for Residential Air Conditioners (RAC). Smooth RAC test operations, data collection, analysis, and validation of concepts related to energy management or robustness related anomalies (refrigerant leaks, heat exchanger fouling, sensor malfunctions) are expected tasks and are outlined below:

  • Conducting RAC tests in Robert Bosch SEA Corporate Research HVAC testbed/lab
  • Physical simulation of anomaly cases on testbed, data recording, processing, storage, and dissection
  • Post-process data, design anomaly detection model, supervise model performance
  • Implement and evaluate experiment results with statistical tools to provide insights for further tests and improvements in algorithms related to predictive maintenance, energy waste, and robust RAC operation

Qualifications

  • Ability to work full time for six months from Oct 2023 or as agreed
  • Educational background in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar
  • Experience in statistical data analysis and utilization of ML/AI tools
  • Basic understanding of thermodynamics, thermal cycles, heat & mass transfer
  • Familiarity with sensors, data acquisition, processing, and visualization
  • Willingness to perform hands-on experiments.
