Position Summary: Samsung Research UK is thrilled to offer an exciting internship opportunity within its Advanced AI team. Located at our R&D Centre in Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK, this role commences in October 2024 and spans 6-9 months, adhering to a hybrid working policy with three days onsite and two days remote each week.

The selected intern will engage in pioneering mathematical and applied AI research to address real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions. Role and Responsibilities

As an intern in our dynamic team, you will undertake:

• Cutting-edge research focusing on groundbreaking solutions and exploring new challenges in AI, tailored to real-world applications.
• Development and documentation of high-quality reproducible research code, designed to stand up to the scrutiny of the global AI research community.
• Contributions to esteemed AI conferences and journals such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, and many more.

Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is either currently enrolled in or has just completed a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field, with:

• Strong foundational knowledge in key areas of mathematics and computer science.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Java, C, and C++.
• A track record of first-author publications in recognized scientific gatherings.
• Experience in AI research, specifically in Foundation Models involving LLMs and/or Diffusion models.
• Practical skills in major software libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and others.

Additionally, experience as an intern or researcher in an academic or industrial R&D lab is highly desirable, along with the ability to design and carry out a detailed research agenda.
