The Summer Internship

At Discord, we offer a customized experience for interns, aiming to replicate what working here is really like. We pair eligible interns with projects and teams according to their interests and capabilities, embedding them within these teams for the summer.

Internships are paid and last for (at the very least) 12 weeks, with a planned start date in June 2024 to suit various school schedules.

The Team:

The Data Products team, part of the central Data Platform organization, is determined to make the petabytes of data at Discord easily available to everyone within the company. We develop full-stack applications, tools, and frameworks to enhance the productivity of teams at Discord with data requirements, particularly our product, analytics, and machine learning teams. What you'll be doing:

• Construct applications, tools, and frameworks to improve the productivity of Discord's product, analytics, and machine learning teams using modern technologies like BigQuery, Dagster, Kubernetes, and beyond.
• You'll work closely with other engineers, acquiring experience in collaboration, planning, and engineering best practices.
• Enable our internal users to utilize our remarkable Data Products through training and documentation.

You'll Succeed In This Role If...

• You're currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD course of study
• You have a passion for creating software and understanding intricate systems.
• You aspire to work on a platform team and expand your skills in building tools for other engineers and data practitioners.
• You crave exposure to petabyte-scale data systems.

Salary of $73/hour (Master's) and $83/hour (PhD)*Note: Declaration as mandated by NYC Pay Transparency Law and CO Declaration as required by sb19-085(8-5-20)
