Job Summary

The role involves acting as a Data Analytics Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the CLUK Internal Audit team. Primarily, you will lead the development and implementation of CLUK's data analytics approach. You will collaborate with other data analytics SMEs across the global Internal Audit function to enhance capabilities and share best practices.

  • Understand and map CLUK data architecture to facilitate data extraction and usage for risk assessment and audit delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for integrating data analytics in audit planning and delivery, including developing data-driven audit tests and procedures.
  • Support audit work through data-driven testing using tools like Power BI.
  • Act as a data analytics champion, sharing knowledge and practices across the CLUK Audit Team and Data Analytics Community.
  • Develop a continuous monitoring approach through data-driven testing.

This role reports to the Internal Audit Management team, providing SME support to Internal Auditors and Senior Internal Auditors in executing audit work.

What You'll Do

  • Understand and map data structures for CLUK's businesses.
  • Support the development of the internal audit plan through data analysis to identify key risks.
  • Develop, test, and implement continuous auditing processes using data-driven testing.
  • Identify audits suitable for data-driven testing and develop testing approaches to support audit opinions.
  • Be an active member of the global Data Analytics Community of Practice.
  • Support team development by delivering training on data analytics tools and techniques.
  • Explore the potential of AI alongside existing data analytics tools.

Who You Are

Technical Knowledge

  • SME for Data Analytics for the UK audit team, part of a global team sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Expertise in mapping data from diverse systems for business risk assessment and identifying data analytics opportunities.
  • Skilled in data analysis tools and techniques, including Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP's, IF functions, pivot tables, charts), Power BI, IDEA, Salesforce, and Tableau.
  • Confident in handling numerical data to identify risks and support audit engagements.
  • Knowledge of assurance principles is desirable but not essential.
  • Python coding knowledge is desirable but not essential, with support available.

Skills

  • Commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Critical thinking to understand business data and its context.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify data sources for audit plan development and engagement delivery.
  • Knowledge of project disciplines for data analytics strategy and audit engagement delivery.
  • Effective communication to simplify complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Data Analytics Certification or willingness to work towards one.
