Job Description

Team: The Powertrain System & Advanced Engineering department is in charge of mechatronic and control system development which incorporates combustion engine, hybrid, electric, and fuel cell vehicles. We collaborate with vehicle manufacturers and internal business groups to commercialize proof-of-concepts for advanced powertrain systems.

This internship will assist US regulation analysis & vehicle requirements evaluation to aid powertrain development for conventional, fuel cell, and xEV applications. In addition to your technical expertise, we're seeking future engineers who can lucidly and concisely communicate intricate technical concepts, and who can effectively collaborate with an international team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing large datasets to comprehend real-world vehicle use in the US
  • Supporting large dataset processing, encompassing data re-sampling and re-generation
  • Assisting in defining data-driven use-cases and user demands that represent how powertrains are used by drivers in the US
  • Statistically comparing real-world data and test data
  • Supporting analysis of the effect of real-world usage on future electrification trends
  • Selecting and applying suitable statistical & computing methods to large-scale data
  • Generating insights by processing & visualizing large datasets
  • Communicating work and ideas clearly to customers, managers, and key decision makers
  • Providing feedback and timely escalating any issues to the team

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Currently pursuing or completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or related technical field with at least one semester completed.
  2. Data science programming experience in one or more of Python, SQL and R
  3. Proficient in processing and visualizing large datasets in Matlab or Python. You must be able to share portfolio or sample projects that exemplify data processing & visualization competence.
  4. Minimum 3.0 GPA
  5. Minimum 18 years of age

Additional Desired Skills and Background:

  1. Experience with machine learning and implementation
  2. Working knowledge of automotive systems
