Join Our Team as a Senior Data Engineer at Mayo Clinic

Mayo Clinic, a leader in healthcare innovation and patient care, is actively seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Specialized Data Services Unit. This remote position offers the opportunity to significantly impact our analytics capabilities across multiple product teams in our Clinical Data Hub (CDH), including Enterprise Search and Command Center.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated data structures and ensuring their performance aligns with our dynamic business needs. You will engage in building and deploying data pipelines and integrations, which are vital for supporting analytics and machine learning applications. We expect our Senior Data Engineer to:

• Architect analytic data environments primarily in Google Cloud Stack.
• Support data architecture for various technology frameworks within the Department of Data & Analytics.
• Provide Level 3 support and maintain high service levels.
• Collaborate closely with CDH product teams and MCC staff to transition data solutions effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related analytical field.
• At least five years of experience with data visualization, data engineering, or analytical modeling (seven years required with an Associate’s degree).
• Proficiency in ETL tools such as DataFusion, DataFlow, and SSIS.
• Expertise in SQL and scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with big data processing methods like Apache Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
• Strong project leadership and analytical skills.
• Google Data Engineer certification or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
