Key Responsibilities:
As a Data Engineer III, you will:
- Provide Level 3 operational support including resolving pipeline issues, proactive monitoring, and RCA and retrospection of issues.
- Perform updates and create runbooks as required, manage entitlements, and make configuration changes to batches and infrastructure.
- Control pipeline runs for scheduled maintenance and implement on-demand changes based on instructions from the data engineering team.
- Address user requests and coordinate with the L3 team when necessary.
- Conduct DR testing twice a year and ensure weekly synchronization between Dev and Prod data.
- Represent the team in weekly change board meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Proven ability in working with Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Snowflake, and other similar technologies.
- Experience in reading and writing SQL and stored procedures.
- Strong configuring, managing, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly and persuasively.
- The ability to work well within a team and foster an inclusive environment.
Job Complexity and Supervision:
This role demands sharp problem-solving skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently under moderate supervision.
Experience and Education:
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 6+ years of hands-on experience in configuring and managing Azure data analytics solutions.
- Prior Azure environment experience is highly desirable.
Physical Demands and Work Schedule:
The job operates in a general office environment requiring schedule flexibility to include working weekends and holidays as needed for 24/7 operations. Occasional travel might be necessary, less than 10%.
