Role Overview

As a Jr. Data Engineering Software Developer, you will make independent, creative technical contributions related to developing, testing, debugging, maintaining, and documenting components of Investment Management data and application systems. You will define user requirements, procedures, and processes to optimize performance efficiency and work on numerous products and technologies supporting Voya’s Investments line of business.

Your Contributions

• Analyze, design, code, test, and implement complex programs.
• Develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to standard systems delivery methodology.
• Adhere to all organizational and IT policies for software development and project management.
• Develop technical design specifications based on functional requirements.
• Build and maintain systems with current and emerging technologies while expanding system capabilities.
• Conduct decision support systems tests, monitor test results, identify issues, and take corrective actions.
• Provide creative solutions to cross-platform technical problems and partner with customers to close project gaps.
• Provide onsite and offsite support for the processing cycles of production systems.
• Participate in system development planning, monitoring, and enhancements.
• Offer technical direction and coaching to Associate Software Developers.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience

• Two or more years of software engineering and development experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, and C++.
• Knowledge of data engineering aspects: databases, cloud data, migration, modeling, quality, and governance.
• Experience in building data analytics applications.
• Understanding of new computing architectures, networked computing structures, APIs, and User Interfaces.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation

Voya is committed to fair and equitable pay, ensuring comparable compensation for comparable roles and responsibilities. The annual base salary range for this position is $90,280 - $112,850 USD. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities based on role and annual performance objectives. Compensation offers may vary based on location, experience, education, licensure, and skill level.
