Position Overview We are looking for a highly driven and analytical Junior Data Scientist to join our US team and assist our client-facing Data Scientists. The perfect candidate should have a strong foundation in data analysis, programming, and a passion for financial markets. As a Junior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our clients build Jupyter notebooks, access our data, and draw out valuable insights to enhance their trading strategies. Even though the role is largely remote, you will be required to meet and work with the US team in New York as and when needed. Key Responsibilities - Notebook Development: Work together with senior data scientists to create Jupyter notebooks and tools that aid clients in analyzing Level 3 market data efficiently. - Data Access Support: Support clients in accessing our data and provide technical assistance as needed to ensure smooth data integration into their workflows. - Data Analysis: Conduct detailed data analysis using Python and other relevant tools to draw noteworthy insights from intricate financial data sets. - Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their unique needs and requirements, and provide guidance on effectively utilizing our data - Documentation: Record best practices, code, and solutions to encourage knowledge sharing among team members and clients - Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in financial markets and data science to suggest innovative solutions and improvements. Requirements Required Qualifications and Experience - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance or a related field - Outstanding programming skills in Python - this is critical - Acquainted with Jupyter notebooks and data visualization libraries (e.g., Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn) - Basic understanding of financial markets and trading concepts - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to function effectively independently as well as part of a team. Nice-to-Have - Experience with financial data analysis or quantitative research - 1-2 years working experience in the financial markets - Knowledge of data manipulation techniques and data cleaning - Comprehension of statistical modeling and machine learning concepts. - Experience with SQL and data querying - Familiarity with Level 3 market data.
