Job Description

We are looking for a Lead AI/ML Scientist who thrives on solving complex problems and has robust experience in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. As a Lead AI/ML Scientist, you will grow and shape a team that develops and applies cutting-edge algorithms to optimize traditionally slow, rote, and high-stakes workflows, all while maintaining and enhancing customer trust. You will guide AI research and oversee the development and deployment of advanced AI technologies that are central to establishing our brand's stronghold in M&A. Your team’s innovative technology will be pivotal for the smartest minds in finance every day and your work will be highly visible to the executive team, directly influencing the strategic direction of our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Team Development: Cultivate a high-caliber AI research team to ensure industry-leading standards for AI R&D processes tailored to the sophisticated needs of our customers.
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with product management to harmonize AI strategy with long-term product goals.
  • Innovative AI Solutions: Oversee the optimization and development of new AI models and algorithms integral to Datasite's offerings.
  • Technical Roadmap: Develop and guide the delivery of a technical roadmap for an LLM-powered M&A Deal Assistant to streamline document review, organization, distribution, and Q&A processes.
  • Performance Benchmarks: Set benchmarks and metrics for model performance, ensuring solutions meet high standards of accuracy and reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with AI advancements, integrating the latest research findings into AI solutions and promoting best practices.

This role is open to US remote candidates; however, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Advanced Degree (PhD preferred) or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields.
  • Experience: 10+ years of hands-on applied AI research experience in progressively senior or leading roles.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and grow AI teams, manage AI projects from conception to implementation, especially in sophisticated environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in Python deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, Pytorch), skilled in AI/ML applications on large-scale unstructured text data, including deep learning, transformers, and LLMs.
  • Cloud Implementation: Experience in implementing AI workflows on Azure or major cloud platforms.
  • Strong Publications: A robust publication record and commitment to advancing industry knowledge.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions that elevate product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Insight: A natural inclination to understand customers, consider business context, and learn from shipped code.

Additional Requirements

Ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients and customers. Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively with team members and product groups. Flexibility to work on various projects and rapidly acquire new domain familiarity is essential.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $146,520 - $260,300. Each candidate's compensation is determined based on several factors, including geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience. Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
