About the Role

ASAPP is eager to welcome a Lead Data Engineer to architect and expand our data infrastructure, vital for our advanced natural language processing (NLP) platform. This role involves managing massive data sets and ensuring their integrity and accessibility to fuel our AI solutions that enhance customer interactions in real-time.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Data Engineer, your responsibilities will be to:

• Lead projects in collaboration with engineers, product managers, and various stakeholders.
• Understand and translate data needs from business and product teams into technical implementations.
• Develop and integrate data pipelines from numerous sources.
• Enhance ETL/ELT processes for efficient data loading into Storage solutions.
• Design and maintain the data architecture for our enterprise data warehouse.
• Ensure the delivery of projects with high accuracy and performance.
• Document metrics and data pipelines to build a transparent data framework.

What We're Looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering and at least 5 years as a data engineer.
• Strong experience in data warehousing, data lakes, and BI development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
• Extensive knowledge in SQL, Hive, or SparkSQL and familiarity with cloud data warehouse technologies like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
• Experience with AWS and ETL tools such as AWS Glue or Informatica is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to new technologies quickly.

Educational Background

Candidates should possess a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
