Since our inception in 2017, Motorway has revolutionized car selling by connecting private sellers with a network of verified dealers, facilitated by a cutting-edge, online-only platform. With over 400 employees across our London and Brighton offices, we're looking to expand our team with professionals passionate about redefining automotive sales through technology.

About the Role

As the pioneering Data Engineer at Motorway, you'll be integral in melding engineering best practices with our robust data domain, shaping the future of our data architecture and infrastructure. Your work will directly support decision-making and product enhancement by transforming data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Data Architecture: Lead the creation of an event-driven operational data architecture.
• Optimise Infrastructure: Boost the scalability and reliability of our data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Advance Data Privacy: Enhance our frameworks for data privacy and retention, ensuring alignment with the latest regulations.
• Platform Optimisation: Improve our data platforms for better cost efficiency and scalability.

First-Year Goals

• Develop and launch a new event-driven data operational architecture.
• Enhance the scalability and reliability of the data platform infrastructure.
• Improve data privacy and retention protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Achieve cost efficiency and scalability improvements in data platforms.

Requirements

We encourage applications from individuals with varied levels of experience, especially those with a robust background in:

• Cloud data infrastructure (GCP or AWS, with a preference for GCP).
• Event-driven data integrations and clickstream ingestion.
• SQL, Python, PySpark.
• Data pipeline orchestration, access, and retention tooling.
