Job Description

As a Lead Data Engineer in our dynamic team, you will focus on Data Service Applications for Public Markets and Alternative Assets. This role encompasses vital responsibilities:

• Leading the design, implementation, and deployment of robust data pipelines transforming vendor data into standardized CPPIB formats.
• Creating and deploying designs in alignment with long-term architectural and technological visions primarily using AWS for cloud developments.
• Participating in complete development life cycles from requirement analysis to deployment.
• Enhancing data models, strategy neutral data, and implementing comprehensive data services with AWS tools.
• Managing data-related tools, analytics, operational processes, and addressing data exceptions promptly.
• Collaborating closely with a cross-functional team of business users, engineers, architects, and data scientists in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Strong technical expertise in AWS Glue, EMR, Athena, Redshift, and other AWS services, plus data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
• Proficiency in programming with Python, PySpark, SQL, Java, and experience in building data pipelines.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architectures, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Terraform and Jenkins.
• A solid foundation in financial data and a passion for learning new technologies. A CFA certification and experience in ML and Generative AI will be advantageous.
