The AVIV marketplace is the preferred meeting place for all actors in the real estate ad: potential buyers or tenants, owners or agents, ... In order to maintain our position, we must provide the best possible quality of service in terms of security, trust, efficiency and relevance of exchanges between these actors. Several factors come into play: the quality and seriousness of prospects and agents as well as the quality of the information displayed.

The role of the Marketplace design team is to design and execute all the necessary actions to ensure the satisfaction of our users: quality and correction of data, scoring, matching, gamification, and continuous improvement. These actions require a significant use of data, the Data Operations team is responsible for governance, modeling and data quality as well as providing key data-sets and maintaining a robust and efficient data platform for the entire AVIV group.

Your responsibilities:

As a Lead Data Engineer within the Data Operations team, you work closely with a Product Manager and your Engineering Manager. Your developments comply with the best practices in place and are aligned with the AVIV enterprise architecture. You bring your technical expertise to your team, you create, adapt and improve the quality of data-sets and tools widely used at AVIV.

The Data Operations Team

The team consists of approximately 40 people, including:

  • Agile Coach
  • Data Engineers
  • Data Quality Engineers
  • Data Analysts & Modelers
  • Devops Engineers
  • Enterprise & Solution Architects
  • Product Managers

The projects

  • Decentralize data and implement the Data Mesh within the Aviv Group
  • Provide insights on the uses of different European websites and mobile apps  

Our Data Technical Stack

  • AWS (CloudFormation, EMR, S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, SNS/SQS)
  • Spark
  • Git, CircleCI, Datadog
  • Scala, Java
  • DataOps

Ideally, you also have additional knowledge such as:

  • Python 
  • Apache Airflow, Kubernetes
  • Jenkins, Argo CD, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics

Qualifications

We are looking for a person capable of:

  • Creating and maintaining complex and high volume datasets according to precise functional specifications.
  • Participating in the creation of a solid and optimal infrastructure for the extraction, transformation and loading () of data from numerous sources. Use of SQL and big data cloud technologies.
  • Identifying, designing and implementing internal improvement processes: automation, optimization of delivery, scalability, etc...
  • Working with data and analytical data experts to develop new features 
  • Mastering Agile methodology: direct communication, adaptation, fail fast, continuous improvement and Software Craftsman
  • Knowing the product and the business, impacting the improvement of customer service, product, and architecture
  • Precision, curiosity, autonomy and a positive mindset 
  • Sharing knowledge and open to new developments
  • Mastering GDPR, security and privacy subjects

Required experience

  • Successful experience in data engineering, in various environments, including Spark.
  • Mastery of current design patterns and common development architectures.
  • Proficiency in professional English.
