Position Overview

Join the University of Texas at Austin's Data to Insights (D2I) Initiative, a pivotal project aimed at enhancing decision-making through advanced data ecosystem technologies. We are looking for a Lead Data ETL Engineer who is passionate about transforming complex data into actionable insights to advance our educational mission. This role is instrumental in supervising the Data ETL Engineer group and leading projects that optimize and expand our data operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of ETL procedures using tools like Informatica for our complex data models.
  • Drive continuous improvement and adaptation of ETL programs to meet evolving needs.
  • Maintain proactive collaboration with stakeholders and team members across technical projects.
  • Supervise and coach the Data ETL engineering team, setting performance standards and goals.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in ETL solution design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Informatica, Python, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a related field and extensive experience with cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Certifications in Informatica and AWS.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
