Job Description

As the Lead Data Scientist at Sportradar, you will be in charge of the design, development, and deployment of predictive models and algorithms for Sportradar's sportsbook risk management and odds trading products. You will be working closely with product owners and technical leaders from our odds services and managed trading services product categories.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge in machine learning and statistics, comfortable with handling large datasets, understands methods for thorough validation of hypotheses and results, is proficient in using various statistical analysis tools and scripting to develop and validate models and data analysis concepts, and is adept at presenting ideas and results to technical and business stakeholders. Having experience leading a small technical team or experience in a mentorship role will be considered a bonus.

Our data science teams utilize Sportradar's data analytics infrastructure for the seamless development and deployment of AI models. THE CHALLENGE:

• Develop machine learning or statistical predictive models for our sportsbook risk management and odds trading products and services.
• Analyze and explore data using statistical analysis tools and scripting
• Thoroughly validate methods, models, algorithms, and hypotheses using back-testing on historical data and/or simulations
• Present ideas and solutions to software developers and business stakeholders in an understandable manner
• Suggest new methods of utilizing data to enhance our products and services
• Work closely with product owners and technical leaders in our odds services product category

YOUR PROFILE:

• Over 10 years of experience or at least 3 years of experience in a Team Lead position. Proven proficiency in areas such as machine learning and/or statistics, efficient handling of big data, and statistical validation of results.
• Experience in data science, statistical modeling, applied mathematics, and/or software engineering roles.
• Proficiency with Python, R, or similar statistical and/or machine learning software/toolkits.
• Advanced SQL skills for querying large analytical databases.
• Must have programming experience.
• Bonus: Proven technical leadership and/or mentoring experience in a technical/engineering organization.
• Bonus: Experience working with Mac/Linux environments.
• Bonus: Experience working with Java.
• Bonus: Hands-on experience with developing reporting solutions and interactive dashboards using BI tools such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, or PowerBI.
• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
