The Role

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will spearhead the development and implementation of ML/AI technologies within the Group Data Science team. Your leadership will drive innovation in data science algorithms, fostering a high-performance culture and advancing both group and banner-specific priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data science projects and implement solutions aligning with commercial objectives.
  • Build and manage a proficient team of Machine Learning Engineers, fostering collaborative project work.
  • Partner with tech, product, and data divisions to enhance our data platforms, integrating data science into our products and processes.
  • Guide diverse teams in bridging business objectives with data science capabilities, effectively communicating insights and recommendations.
  • Promote and exemplify the use of data science throughout Kingfisher, influencing our data-driven culture.
  • Enhance Kingfisher's reputation in data science and customer analytics both internally and externally.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience in delivering AI-driven products and ML production implementations.
  • Expertise in cloud-based machine learning services on platforms like GCP.
  • Strong foundation in Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and related data analysis tools (Jupyter, Pandas, etc.).
  • Advanced software development skills, with a preference for Python.
  • Experience deploying ML/AI services with Kubernetes & KubeFlow.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
