Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement optimization models to enhance business performance and operational efficiencies within the insurance sector.
  • Analyze extensive datasets to provide insights that facilitate data-driven decisions for insurance risk profiling, claims management, and other critical areas.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including actuaries, underwriters, and IT to design, develop, and integrate optimization solutions.
  • Lead the entire data science lifecycle from problem definition to model implementation.
  • Utilize AI algorithms and predictive modeling to create dynamic optimization models capable of adapting to evolving market conditions and customer needs swiftly.
  • Mentor and train junior data scientists, fostering the development of analytical skills within the team.
  • Stay abreast of the latest OR and AI techniques to explore innovative solutions that maintain our competitive edge.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the OR field with a comprehensive understanding of the mathematical principles underpinning optimization algorithms.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in mathematical modeling, optimization, and simulation techniques.
  • Experience in deploying OR solutions in cloud environments.
  • Proficient with AI algorithms, predictive modeling, and machine learning technologies applied to insurance problem-solving.
  • Competence in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Deep understanding of descriptive statistics and exploratory data analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex datasets.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of successfully delivering impactful optimization projects in industries like insurance, finance, or retail.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior data scientists to enhance their analytical capabilities.

Compensation: The pay range for this role is $102,000 to $168,000, depending on the candidate’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program.
