About the Team:

Our Enterprise Model Platform team, part of the Machine Learning Experience (MLX) organization, supports a critical Jupyter Notebook system used for modeling and exploratory analysis across Capital One. This role offers exposure to thousands of models trained on the platform by diverse users, providing unique engineering challenges related to data access, security, and scalability. You'll design and implement platform architecture to ensure the high availability of our Jupyter notebook environment, work on application service layers written in Go/Python, address Jupyter and conda environments issues and optimize Spark/Dask/Ray compute requirements for AI and ML advancements at Capital One.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and manage a team of developers specializing in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions fulfilling regulatory needs.

- Stay abreast of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in tech communities, mentor engineering team members, and occasionally code or evaluate code.

- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve financial independence.

- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and AWS tools and services for development.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships)

- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree

- 7+ years of experience with Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js

- 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service

- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks

- 1+ years of people management experience

- 2+ years of experience with Agile practices

Compensation:

The annual salary range for this role in New York City (Hybrid On-Site) is $201,400 - $229,900. Salaries for other locations will align with local standards, and the exact amount will be specified in the candidate's offer letter. This role also qualifies for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
