Responsibilities

  • Champion engineering best practices to write well-constructed and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with product managers and team leads to deliver business functionality.
  • Propose and implement robust solutions for content management services.
  • Design well-architected, agile-friendly systems with defensive and robust tests.
  • Communicate status updates with peers and managers effectively.
  • Partner with project management to release and launch production-quality software.
  • Mentor other developers on standards, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of software development experience with proficiency in Java.
  • Expertise in Object-Oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of relational, key-value, document, and graph databases.
  • Experience in performance tuning and problem ownership.
  • Innovative thinking to solve problems and improve systems.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Curiosity for streaming TV and live event delivery software infrastructure.
  • Experience with Distributed Systems and Event-driven Architecture.
  • Passion for sports, news, or live events.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, California is $149,300 to $200,200 per year. The base pay offered will be determined based on internal equity, candidate’s geographic region, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
