About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll be an essential part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products. Your contributions will ensure these products are secure, stable, and scalable. You'll be responsible for developing critical technology solutions across various technical areas and business functions to support the firm’s objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute innovative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve technical problems.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues, enhancing the operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials for use within existing systems.
  • Drive the use of new and leading-edge technologies across Software Engineering communities of practice.
  • Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 5+ years of applied experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java or Python within a large corporate environment.
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD tools and processes.
  • Knowledge in application monitoring, observability, and using tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, and Grafana.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and container technologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies such as Terraform.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines such as cloud, AI, machine learning, and mobile.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Strong understanding of application production management and system troubleshooting.
