About the AI Governance Team:
The AI Governance (AIG) team is an integral part of Visa's Data and AI Platform (DAP) organization. Our goal is to foster centralized AI excellence across Visa through the AI Observatory. This platform offers comprehensive oversight of machine learning models across their lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and fairness. By uplifting domain-specific models into a unified framework, we streamline AI efforts for superior outcomes.

As a Lead System Architect on the AI Governance team, you will have the opportunity to influence the design and implementation of cutting-edge AI/ML solutions. Your role will involve crafting systems that support Visa's ambitious AI strategies, staying ahead in the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective architectural principles to create efficient solutions.
  • Lead development teams from initial concept through to production.
  • Explore and prototype emerging technologies for potential Visa adaptation.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality and secure code delivery.
  • Support and constantly improve production systems for optimal user experience.
  • Adhere to software development guidelines and Visa security standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet their requirements.

This role is a hybrid position:
Hybrid employees can split their time between remote and office settings. Employees are expected to work from the office 2-3 days a week as determined by leadership, spending approximately 50% of their time in the office, depending on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 8 years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or 3 years with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 8-10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6+ years with a PhD.
  • At least 8 years in team leadership as a lead or architect.
  • Proven experience in software development, big data, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in high-performance languages like Python and Java, and platforms like Hadoop, Spark, Dask, or Ray.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, containerization, Unix, and shell scripting.
  • Expertise in planning and documenting technical specifications for system design.
  • Skilled in establishing standards and best practices for IT component maintenance.
  • Ability to monitor data management solutions and identify optimization opportunities.
