Cohere Health is shedding light on healthcare for patients, their doctors, and anyone important to a patient's healthcare journey, both inside and outside the doctor's office. Established in August 2019, we are dedicated to eliminating unnecessary obstacles that patients and doctors face in areas unrelated to health and treatment, particularly for diagnoses requiring costly procedures or medications. Opportunity Overview

In this role, you'll join our expanding team of top-tier machine learning engineers and clinical specialists to roll out machine learning models that assist in automating cumbersome administrative clinical practices.

Our ML team's work concentrates on designing, deploying, and overseeing production models that identify, predict, and generate pertinent clinical findings from structured and unstructured data sources.

What you will do:

• Evaluate deep learning methods (e.g., transformers) for embedding, retrieval, classification, and generative use cases
• Develop, roll out, and monitor dependable and scalable machine learning products
• Author and maintain codebases for data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment
• Work cross-functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, including product managers, clinicians, and technical leadership

Your background and characteristics:

• You have 1+ years of experience in applied ML in the industry with a degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or a related field
• Clear understanding of model creation, model maintenance, and the measures that optimize models for production use
• Familiar with Python as well as deep learning frameworks (e.g., )
• Practical experience in building deep learning models (e.g., transformers) for NLP tasks

Additional credit for:

• Having used AWS tools such as SageMaker Studio and Neptune
• Experience with OCR or image-based document understanding techniques
• Experience with ElasticSearch
• Experience with generative AI or Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Dealing with unstructured healthcare data (e.g., clinical notes)
