Role Overview

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Zscaler, you will be pivotal in designing and building scalable distributed systems that enhance our security solutions across vast data sets and real-world applications. This role is essential for supporting our entire pipeline, from data collection and feature engineering to model training and real-time deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable systems for data processing and machine learning model pipelines.
• Apply analytical skills and statistical methods to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Solve pressing business challenges in areas such as threat detection and business automation by collaborating closely with data scientists and product teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, particularly in machine learning platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and scripting for data infrastructure and ML models.
• Experience with distributed data frameworks (e.g., Spark, BigQuery, Apache Beam) and event messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Practical knowledge in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with additional programming languages such as Go, C++, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB, Redis) and ML automation tools (e.g., Kubeflow, Airflow).
• Advanced knowledge in machine learning, data serialization, public cloud services, and NLP/Text mining is advantageous.
• Strong capabilities in project leadership, robust design principles, and testing practices.
