Machine Learning Engineer Opportunity at Forter

Are you passionate about Machine Learning? Forter is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our expanding Data Science Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of Machine Learning, where you'll develop and maintain high-performing models to meet our stringent accuracy and efficiency standards.

About the Role

In 2020, Forter's Machine Learning models processed over $200B in e-commerce transactions, making real-time decisions, identifying fraud rings, and detecting new attack methods. Precision is essential, as inaccuracies can lead to significant financial losses.

With billions of data points from merchants worldwide, our team—including data scientists, analysts, and cyber intelligence experts—continuously innovates. As data volume and model complexity rise, the engineering challenge intensifies.

If you thrive in a dynamic environment and excel at crafting effective and elegant solutions within constraints, we invite you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize Machine Learning models for various research projects and business applications.
  • Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and expert analysts to provide cutting-edge tooling that enhances model research precision.
  • Integrate Machine Learning models into existing systems and workflows, working closely with Forter's ML Platform team.
  • Collect, preprocess, and analyze diverse data sources to train, validate, and test ML models.
  • Engage in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, tools, and processes for machine learning engineering.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of ML models, iterating to improve their accuracy and efficiency.
  • Document and communicate research findings, model architectures, and performance metrics to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience collaborating with data scientists, researchers, and ML engineers, and working with Machine Learning concepts and frameworks.
  • 4+ years of experience developing complex software projects using general-purpose languages (preferably Python) and ML libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Motivated to understand the needs of internal users, providing them with excellent tooling and guidance.
  • Experience with public clouds (AWS / GCP / Azure).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with Databricks or Airflow.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing, ideally with Apache Spark.
