Machine Learning at Samsung Ads

Machine learning is integral to the advertising industry and at Samsung Ads, we actively incorporate the latest techniques to improve our systems and products. As a Machine Learning Model Engineer on the Platform Intelligence (PI) team, you'll work with exclusive Samsung proprietary data, develop large-scale machine learning products, and contribute to real-world impacts. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver production-grade machine learning products for the mobile performance ads market.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning models to achieve various optimization goals.
  • Research the latest machine learning technologies and stay updated with industry trends.
  • Analyze complex advertising data, identify gaps and propose technical solutions.
  • Quickly prototype new ML-based solutions and take them to production.
  • Collaborate with internal ML teams to enhance our codebase and product health.
  • Work with global cross-functional teams to deliver new ML features and solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Adapt quickly to a fast-paced working environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • 4+ years of industry experience with a Master’s degree or 2+ years with a PhD.
  • Solid theoretical background in machine learning and/or data mining.
  • Proficiency in mainstream ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML).
  • Hands-on experience with production-grade machine learning solutions.
  • Experience with big data tools (e.g., MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka).
  • Extensive programming experience in Python, Go, or other OOP languages.
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and databases.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional partnerships.

Preferred Experience Requirements

  • Publications in top relevant venues (e.g., TPAMI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge about Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with the advertising industry and real-time bidding (RTB) ecosystem.

Compensation

The salary range for this role, for candidates based in California, is expected to be between $180,000 and $190,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, as well as comparison to other employees in the role.
