About This Role

As a Machine Learning Research Scientist on our Learned Behavior team, you will harness advanced machine learning techniques to propel our software advancements. This position involves crafting and implementing cutting-edge strategies in active learning, deep retrieval, and human-in-the-loop learning. Your work will be vital in refining our core ML models for prediction and planning, enhancing data utilization, and improving decision-making processes within real-world autonomous driving scenarios. Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing active learning strategies to optimize our training data usage, boosting the robustness and adaptability of our core ML models.
  • Applying deep retrieval techniques to manage diverse datasets and support various functions including model training and real-time decision-making.
  • Executing human-in-the-loop learning methods to enhance the decision-making processes of our autonomous vehicles.
  • Collaborating with teams to establish efficient ML data pipelines and workflows.
  • Setting quality standards for data collection and labeling, ensuring the data's integrity.
  • Deploying practical ML solutions directly to NuroDriver and monitoring their performance in real scenarios.

About You

You are ideally equipped with:

  • Over a year of experience in machine learning with deep networks, handling large datasets.
  • Expertise in areas such as Active Learning, Deep Retrieval, and Model Uncertainty, with a bonus for knowledge in robotics and autonomous driving ML.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, a fitting cultural addition, and teamwork skills.
  • An advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • A track record of research publications in renowned conferences is a plus.

What We Offer:

At Nuro, the starting salary for this role is typically between $167,200 and $250,800/year based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for additional performance bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
