About the Role: Manager, AI Engineering

Monotype is seeking a highly talented and motivated Manager for our AI Engineering team. If you are experienced in leading AI/ML projects and have a passion for creating innovative solutions, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, focusing on career development.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions to tackle complex business problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into AI/ML solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, promoting best practices and innovation.
• Conduct in-depth research and apply the latest advancements in AI/ML.
• Develop and maintain scalable, production-ready AI model code.
• Implement and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality for machine learning tasks.
• Optimize models for scalability to handle large datasets and high throughput.
• Represent Monotype at technology and research community events and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 8-12 years of hands-on experience in AI and ML engineering.
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of up to 10 AI engineers.
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Successful track record in leading complex AI/ML projects from research to production.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle ambiguous problems.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of computer vision, natural language processing, and other AI-related domains.
• Published research papers or contributions to the AI/ML community.

This position emphasizes hands-on design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions, along with conducting research and maintaining code and data pipelines. It also involves providing technical mentorship and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
