In this role, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on Retail Credit Risk, Small Business & Wealth Management portfolios. This position involves monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for Scotiabank's senior management, investors, and regulators.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Manager, Analytics, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, maintaining, and managing data in the EDL to provide accurate information in support of Retail Credit Risk analysis and reporting.
- Conducting business analysis of multiple data sources for Canadian and International retail data; developing and implementing new data and reporting requirements.
- Supporting monthly/quarterly executive and management reporting by compiling and formalizing information from various sources and assisting in data interpretation and analysis.
- Maintaining technical and business documentation to comply with Regulatory, Governance, and Audit requirements.
- Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining credit risk reports using SAS, HADOOP, Hive/Hue, SQL Server, Excel, Tableau, Access, and VBA.
- Collecting and authoring business and technical requirements/specifications.
- Working with technology teams to identify issues and implement solutions; responding promptly to ad hoc requests/queries.
Job Requirements:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of five years of progressive, relevant, and practical experience in leading financial organizations, preferably in risk management or IT fields.
- Experience and knowledge of complex multi-dimensional computer systems, programming, testing, problem-solving, and systems analysis.
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and process automation software packages.
- Data Warehousing knowledge & experience, including the management of multiple data sources.
- Experience with manipulating large and complex databases.
- Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Python, VBA, and Hadoop technology/tools (including HIVE/HUE, SmartView, Tableau, Talend, PowerBI).
- Knowledge of Data Management and Database Design, including data modeling.
Essential knowledge and skills include:
- Familiarity with retail credit products, policies, portfolios, and delivery systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Substantial risk reporting experience with an understanding of risk data and statistics.
- A strong knowledge of the Bank’s technical platform applications.
- Industry knowledge of trends and best practices.
- Accuracy, thoroughness, effective time management, strong teamwork, and communication skills.
