About the Role

This role involves overseeing BAU activities and deliverables for Group Finance and Group Investment data projects. #LI-DNP

Data Support Engineer

  • Responsible for managing data pipeline which includes developing, maintaining, testing and optimizing the data pipelines.
  • Capable of working with cloud tools and infrastructure.
  • Manage, maintain and improve the performance of existing database programs
  • Monitor existing database programs and improve the performance, if necessary.
  • Analyse and design for the company's need for data staging, orchestration and transformation.
  • Building, testing, and maintaining database pipeline architectures.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Researching and finding solutions to software and hardware problems.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, including account setup and network configuration.
  • Work closely with business users to investigate and quickly understand the root of the problem they reported.
  • Tracking computer system issues until resolution, within agreed time
  • Conducting complex data analysis and presenting the results.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.

Handling of ad-hoc requests including:

  • Disaster recovery drills.
  • Updates in documents/processes.
  • Creating custom scripts to automate support processes where applicable
  • Work closely with the build team for system enhancements for new requirements, system defects and system software upgrades
  • Achievement of objectives and adherence to deadlines and work procedures
  • Full technical capability in responsible areas
