Job Description - Ability to reach out to stakeholders, network, engage and collaborate with multiple teams. - Drive teams to deliver well-documented, reproducible, and measurable innovations. - Has a broad knowledge of product development at NIQ and can think from conceptualization to delivery. - Ability to build a business case on content, capability, and capability building for the team. - Technically proficient and understands business implications and client understanding. - Able to lead and execute tasks, if necessary. - Reviews the progress of projects and POCs (Proofs of Concept) and proposes improvements and constructive critiques. - Works with managers, colleagues, and other stakeholders such as program teams, product leaders, senior data science leaders, and more. - Influences, collaborates, and sets clear priorities and expectations for teams and stakeholders. - Ability to work in a matrix environment. - Able to think across various functions within Data Science to deploy global innovations. - Constructively reviews products/methodologies and ensures support in the launch of new global products. - Familiar with scientific trends in defined lines of research with high business impact. - Collates all market-level initiatives/innovations to identify opportunities to scale innovations. - Defines/designs and owns the execution of Data Science teams and/or initiatives, applications, or projects to deliver robust, reproducible, and quality data-driven PoCs or applications. - Documents all processes, develops roles and responsibilities, and ensures smooth operations of priorities. - Can independently execute data-driven initiatives to required expectations, plan, and report on lines of research and PoCs. - Can design effective solutions to complex technical challenges. - Effectively manages stakeholders and sets clear priorities and expectations for their team and stakeholders. - Lives the Nielsen Operating Principles, and coaches and develops others, acting as a talent multiplier. - Identifies the potential impact of the research performed within their teams and proposes research papers that could potentially be published, as well as white papers and patents. Qualifications - 7+ years of experience; Awareness of R / Python; ML / AI tools. A background in statistics is preferred. - Comfortable designing solutions and leading a team to execute complex innovations and initiatives. - Makes smart architectural decisions to ensure optimum performance and results. - Displays innovative thinking and encourages experimentation in the delivery of work. - Can support others to understand and apply more complicated technical principles and methodologies, creating clarity and focus for teams to deliver. - Expert knowledge in programming, software engineering, statistical analysis/machine learning/deep learning. - Has a publication track record of at least 3 scientific papers on relevant conferences or journals. - An expert problem solver in their domain, applying logical reasoning to solve the most difficult problems. - Can identify data sources, connections, and patterns that are not readily apparent or available to solve problems and influence decisions. - Fosters an environment of innovation, experimentation, and inclusion in problem-solving, seeking and embracing diversity of thought. - Identifies and embraces new and innovative methodologies in solving challenging problems. - Utilizes and contributes to new external innovations in solving industry-wide challenges in their domain. - Guides and encourages an analytical and data-driven mindset for the other team members. - Strategic thinking. - Ability to successfully build relationships with challenging stakeholders and navigate complex multicultural environments. - Ability to communicate complex topics in a way that is clearly understood by others. - Can adapt to and drive change, and influence others including stakeholders and senior leaders. - Ability to manage conflict and build effective team relationships and dynamics across direct reports and/or other teams/stakeholders adapting approach as needed depending on the individuals. - Leads and provides expert advice while working in a global context and connecting to stakeholders in different parts of the world. - Ability to inform and influence the product development life-cycle, and trajectory based on the knowledge of the product, the science, and technology. - Works with the product team to create clarity on and prioritize development. - Uses "Outside-in-thinking" when making decisions to continuously improve the product. Shares feedback with global and local teams to ensure in building relevant solutions. - Encourages openness to change and iterative processes in order to continuously improve the product's value to users. - Encourages continuous innovation focused on product improvements. - Ability to estimate and size initiatives, and ensure initiatives meet cost requirements. - Ability to find solutions for functional and non-functional requirements. - Business acumen and reporting. - Lead and guide team for production plans meeting deadlines.
