Team Summary

The Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) team is an integral part of the Global Solutions organization. This high-performing team of data scientists, data analysts, and statisticians assists major organizations in adapting to advancements in technology, finance, and commerce through innovative, creative, and advanced analytic solutions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Science Manager (Sr. Data Scientist) responsible for leading data science initiatives and supporting end-to-end delivery of projects. The role will be based out of our Bangalore office and involve working with the VCA Data Science team in the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver analytics projects from conception to completion with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Work on designing, developing, and implementing analytics-driven strategies and high-impact solutions for Visa clients.
  • Utilize advanced data science techniques to solve complex problems and unlock business value.
  • Lead innovation by leveraging VisaNet data, non-traditional data, new modeling techniques, and data engineering pipeline development.
  • Promote advanced analytic methodologies and best practices.
  • Create metrics and dashboards to quantify activities and monitor market progress.
  • Act as an advocate for data science within our partners, providing coaching and sharing best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and reusable solutions.

Role Requirements and Responsibilities

Your role will span a diverse range of projects, adapting to Visa's client-specific needs. You will collaborate with VCA AP regional teams, including market data science teams, the hub team in Singapore, and Visa’s clients.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of data analytics and engineering solutions.
  • Develop new solutions and automate existing ones, ensuring long-term delivery of client deliverables.
  • Liaise with market data science teams to understand needs and develop requirements.
  • Build necessary data pipelines, design local data warehouses/marts, and develop analytical reports.
  • Cater to various data presentation techniques and automate processes based on client requirements.

This is a hybrid position, involving both remote and in-office work. Employees are expected to be in the office 2-3 days a week, with a minimum of 50% office presence based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or at least 2 years with an Advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 0 years with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 4+ years with an Advanced Degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD.
  • Hands-on experience in machine learning solutions, data science projects, and scaling data solutions.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies and data engineering tools like Hive, Spark, SQL, R/Python.
  • Experience in Credit Risk or Fraud Risk analytics, Marketing Analytics is a significant plus.
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking ability. <
