Position: Machine Learning Manager

We are seeking a Machine Learning Manager to lead our Ad Targeting Team within the Monetization engineering team. In this role, you will spearhead the development of new advertising products, improve existing ad targeting products, and assist our partners in achieving their business goals on the Snap platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers to develop models that drive value for our users, advertising partners, and our company.
• Build robust, scalable products while iterating quickly without compromising quality.
• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of key decisions and develop technical roadmaps.
• Support the team, grow leaders, and foster a positive team culture.
• Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders and leadership.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of ML approaches and algorithms applicable to advertising or recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven track record of solving open and ambiguous problems end-to-end.
• Experience leading a small to medium sized team as a front-line manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience.
• 8+ years of machine learning experience in the industry.
• 2+ years of experience managing ML teams with a focus on advertising applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or related field.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or related frameworks.
• Previous experience partnering with cross-functional executives and management in a globally distributed organization.
