Role Overview: Manager - Power BI

As a Manager in Power BI, you will support the BI Development & Operations manager by delivering comprehensive PowerBI reports. This role requires strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to identify and implement optimal reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Create end-to-end PowerBI solutions and present them to BI SMEs and business units.
  • Provide problem-solving support to address business unit issues.
  • Implement development best practices to ensure reliability and minimize manual maintenance.
  • Offer strategic advice and guidance on PowerBI implementation.
  • Analyze usage and adoption levels using PBI Statistics to identify best practices.
  • Engage with tech teams to implement necessary PowerBI service settings.
  • Conduct peer-reviews of changes made by other PowerBI team members.
  • Support the collection and cataloging of BI data requirements, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and back-end design.
  • Assist functional BI SMEs in report reconciliation and alignment.
  • Mentor and upskill other PowerBI team members.
  • Conduct technical knowledge transfer sessions.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking a PowerBI Manager with the following qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in Information Technology or equivalent training and experience.
  • Extensive PowerBI experience (5+ years).
  • Proficient in DAX language, Power Pivot, and Power Query (including M language).
  • Experience in sourcing data from SAP BW queries, SAP HANA, Azure data bricks, SharePoint, Office 365, Oracle, and Common Data Services.
  • Ability to combine multiple data sources, including business-user managed files.
  • Strong experience with large-scale data ingestion, enrichment, modeling, and dataflows.
  • Capability to create advanced reports (storytelling, what-if analyses, forecasts, and predictions).
  • Experience in PowerBI Service administration and management.
  • Understanding of in-depth authorization concepts (including RLS).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in designing and architecting analytics/reporting tools/solutions.
  • Experience with management reporting (Finance).
  • Experience in report performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of Power BI configuration, setup, and licensing within operational business entities.
  • Proven track record of building stakeholder relationships in a global, cross-functional context.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment.
  • On-site customer experience is an advantage.
  • Experience with Power BI Inforiver and Power Automate is a plus.
