Team Overview
The Product & Data Engineering team is behind Disney’s world-class consumer-facing products, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. Our team drives innovation across platforms like Apple, Android, Smart TVs, game consoles, and the web, focusing on core experiences such as personalization, search, and data management.
Job Summary
As the Manager, Release Management, you will ensure seamless releases and deployments for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN mobile apps. Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to enhance processes that boost productivity. Your role requires advanced analytical, communication, project management skills, and a strong customer-service orientation.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support release strategy, plans, schedules, processes, and documentation.
- Identify, triage, and mitigate SW Release risks and issues.
- Drive release quality metrics and improvements.
- Communicate release progress and updates to stakeholders.
- Integrate initiatives to enhance segment operations and effectiveness.
- Liaison with Product & Technical Directors for strategic forecasting and standardizing workflows.
- Provide data-driven solutions for service health, deployments, and releases.
- Facilitate agile methodologies and engineering-driven problem-solving sessions.
- Establish clear internal communication systems and templates.
- Perform tactical and strategic analysis across business units.
- Develop internal training sessions and manage onboarding practices.
- Mentor team members to ensure technical and delivery quality.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of technology experience, 4+ in release management.
- Experience with mobile platforms (iOS, Android, App Store, Play Store).
- Proficient in agile software development methodologies.
- Solid understanding of program and project management principles.
- Experience at the enterprise level in technology.
- High emotional intelligence and professional maturity.
- Strong communication skills and ability to develop beneficial relationships.
- Experience influencing business and technology leadership.
- Proven leadership in managing teams.
- Superb organization, detail-orientation, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and synthesize data for insights and recommendations.
- Strong presentation and design skills, with experience in Keynote, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Wordpress, Box, Office365, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Airtable.
- Ability to liaise between business and technologies.
- Creative thinking and innovation skills.
- Understanding of Disney procedures and corporate culture.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Technology, or a related field.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position is $149,300 to $200,200 per year in Glendale, CA & Bristol, CT, and $156,300 to $209,600 per year in New York, NY & Seattle, WA. The base pay will consider internal equity, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses, long-term incentive units,
