Join Our Team as a Mechatronics Engineer at Google

About the Role: Google is on the forefront of technological innovation, especially in automation and robotics. As a Mechatronics Engineer within our Data Center Automation Services team, you will have the unique opportunity to design, implement, and oversee software and control systems for high-impact automation projects. You will be vital in driving engineering efforts through the development of both onboard firmware and cloud-based software control systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in designing and testing multi-component systems such as software, robotics algorithms, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and control systems.
• Proven track record with industrial electrical control systems, design components, and familiarity with regional industrial and safety standards (e.g., ISO, NFPA).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced experience in software development using languages like C++, C#, or Python.
• Knowledge of Cloud-based technologies such as PubSub, IoT, and Data Warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with industrial systems including Cognex, Keyence, or OpenCV.
• Proficient in industrial robot programming and the use of electronic/mechanical fabrication and test equipment.
• Experience adhering to safety and electrical standards-based practices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical execution and provide expert guidance on projects requiring control system solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Control Systems Engineers, and Software Engineers to define and meet project technical requirements.
• Plan and direct strategic work for the team, including tasks for other engineers and vendors/contractors.
• Act as a technical leader, setting engineering and technical directions for projects of significant size, scope, and complexity.

Salary & Benefits:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$150,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Salary variations depend on location, experience, and education levels.
