Medior/Senior Data Scientist

ING is hiring an Experienced Data Scientist for the Tribe Digital & Customer Interactions team.

We are seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to steer one of our data science initiatives. The ideal individual brings extensive expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analytics. Strong interpersonal skills are vital, as you will need to engage cross-functionally, coach and mentor junior team members, and head projects from conception to execution.

The team

With over 70 data analysts and scientists, we are speeding up the shift towards becoming a fully data-driven organization. We work in multi-disciplinary teams, assigned as data consultants internally and externally to our tribe.

• An MSc or Ph.D. with outstanding academic results in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields.
• 3-5 years of relevant and demonstrable experience in data science.
• Both broad and in-depth knowledge of machine Learning techniques: Classification, Regression, Clustering, Text Mining, and Deep Learning.
• Experience with programming languages and tools like Python, PySpark, SQL, Git, Shell.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially GCP and BigQuery, is a plus.
• Comfort with writing readable, documented, and efficient code.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and cooperate through data engineering partnerships.
• Understanding of model lifecycles and monitoring, including developing and launching models to production.
• Proven experience in successful collaboration in cross-functional teams including business, engineering, and data science stakeholders.
• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework is also desirable.
• You are receptive to feedback and growth on technical skills, business applications, and soft skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Dutch is a plus.
