About the Role

As a Research Scientist, Post-Training at Essential AI, your primary role will be to lead our efforts in enhancing the efficiency, performance, and robustness of our AI models. You will innovate through developing novel techniques for fine-tuning, adapting, and updating models. This position directly contributes to driving significant business value for our clients and improving our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to research initiatives that improve real-world applications of our AI models.
  • Close collaboration with product teams to translate research findings into practical applications, identifying capability gaps and evaluating progress.
  • Design and execute research experiments to advance post-training capabilities.
  • Develop innovative algorithms and methods tailored to efficient model adaptation and fine-tuning.
  • Create and assess synthetic datasets designed for enterprise solutions.
  • Analyze research outcomes to inform future projects and integrate findings into production systems.
  • Stay updated with latest advancements in post-training techniques and integrate these insights into our research and product development.

What We Look For:

  • Demonstrated research experience with post-training optimization of large language models using frameworks like Megatron, DeepSpeed, and MaxText.
  • Solid foundation in machine learning principles guiding innovative research approaches.
  • Experience in developing new methods or enhancing existing techniques in ML or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages used in ML research.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, along with excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.
