Data Engineer, Mid The Opportunity: With the continuous growth of technologies like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, the amount of structured and unstructured data available is higher than ever. As a data engineer, you understand how organizing big data from diverse sources can provide key insights. We need a data professional like you to help our clients uncover answers in their big data to influence significant missions—from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence. As a big data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll leverage your skills and experience to carry out data engineering activities on some of the industry’s most mission-driven projects. You'll create and implement the pipelines and platforms that collect and interpret diverse data. In this role, you’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a dynamic, Agile environment. You’ll hone your abilities in analytical exploration and data analysis while facilitating the evaluation, design, development, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. You Have: 3+ years of experience with writing software in programming languages, including Python 2+ years of experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) operations, including on-premise or Cloud infrastructure 1+ years of experience with source control and collaboration software, including Git or Atlassian tools Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies, including SQL or GraphQL Knowledge of automation and scripting on Linux or Windows operating systems Secret clearance Bachelor’s degree Nice If You Have: Experience with deploying analytics workloads on platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS), including AWS EMR, Redshift, or SageMaker or Azure Databricks, SQL Data Warehouse, or Machine Learning service Experience with distributed or parallel programming frameworks, including Apache Spark or NVIDIA CUDA, and infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks and services, including Terraform or CloudFormation Experience with developing and presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences and senior leaders Experience with developing and deploying large-scale batch and stream analytics pipelines Experience in working with integrated teams comprised of customer success managers, infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and software engineers Experience with Agile engineering practices Experience with DoD information systems Top Secret clearance Master's degree in Mathematics Cloud development certification, including AWS Solutions Architect or Azure certification, and Information Security certification, including Security+ or CISSP certification Clearance: Applicants chosen will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. The predicted compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary at Booz Allen is determined by several factors, not limited to location, individual’s unique combination of education, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational necessities.
