Job Description: Military Operations Analyst 3

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Mission Technologies division is seeking a Military Operations Analyst 3 to support the Joint Force Development Research and Analysis for Joint Staff J7 (JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze and provide recommendations on military command control, communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises.
  • Coordinate with user community representatives throughout all development phases concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives.
  • Analyze the conduct and results of operational user training and military maneuvers to maintain force capabilities. Compare, analyze, and evaluate the relative merits of program designs and alternatives.
  • Apply emerging doctrines and tactics to system design and development, whether from formal doctrinal changes or from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities.
  • Assess the impact of programmatic and technical options on user requirements and doctrine.
  • Prepare reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with no previous experience. Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
