What we do:
Supernal is looking to hire a Senior Systems Integration Engineer for Aircraft Components, to join our assembly and product integration team. The person will report directly to the Aircraft Systems Integration Manager and will facilitate accurate collaboration across all engineering functions. The role involves developing standardized processes and procedures while working closely with the design teams throughout the design phases. The Senior Systems Integration Engineer will also assist in trade study efforts during the conceptual and preliminary design phases, in order to meet the program's performance, weight, cost, and schedule targets. Furthermore, they will ensure that all aircraft subsystem requirements are fulfilled and efficiently integrated inside the airframe structure. The Senior Systems Integration Engineer will play a vital role in manufacturing prototype and flight test aircraft and transitioning to production flight vehicles.
This position requires on-site work five days a week.
What you can do:
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to design dependable, safety-critical systems for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft
- Manage the digital mock-up for a large section of the aircraft
- Control space allocation for all subsystems
- Manage routing envelopes for all subsystems
- Ensure all subsystems are accessible and maintainable
- Manage Interface Requirements Models (IRMs) for their area
- Manage the top aircraft assembly part number and BOM structure
- Organize regular design review meetings to resolve disconnects and improve design through CDR
- Manage master geometry models for the respective zone
- Ensure all system separation requirements are met
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to guarantee effective design of the aircraft zones for manufacturing processes
- May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration, or structural design engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- CAD (CATIA V5/V6/3DX/NX), Enovia or Teamcenter
- Solid knowledge and practical experience with MBD, PLM, MES
- Experience with Interface Control Document (ICD) and Interface Control Model (ICM) documentation preferred
- Experience with Zonal Analysis desired
- Prior experience working with multi-functional teams
- Aviation, automotive, or mobility space experience with UAS or UAM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project management experience
- Exceptional organizational skills and an eye for detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and complete work within timelines
- Highly collaborative and functions effectively both independently and with a team
- Has a sense of urgency, proactive delivery of communication, and follow up
You may also be able to contribute:
- Prior experience with conceptual design, testing, validation, certification, and manufacture of aircraft preferred
- Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) and Harness design experience preferred
- Environmental Control Systems experience preferred
- Experience with Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) preferred
- Familiarity with practical application of DO-160 desired
- Aircraft Functional Hazard Assessment (AFHA) experience preferred

The base salary for this position varies based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location, and is eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation. This position offers a pay range between $166,400 and $232,960.
