About BlackRock's US Municipals Group

Operating under the Portfolio Management Group, BlackRock’s Municipal Fixed Income team oversees more than $159 billion in assets, making it a front-runner in the municipal securities market. We are excited to expand our Gurgaon office, seeking a dedicated analyst to support our Municipal Credit Research team primarily based in Princeton, New Jersey.

Key Role Overview

The Municipal Credit Research Analyst role includes critical tasks such as acquiring and organizing financial and economic datasets, conducting in-depth credit analysis of various public municipal debt issuers, and building robust credit opinions and market analyses. The role demands strong collaboration with internal teams and external contacts, offering immense scope for learning and professional growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Enhance and maintain the municipal credit database and conduct timely surveillance of municipal bond positions.
  • Perform fundamental credit assessments across diverse sectors such as utilities, transportation, healthcare, and higher education.
  • Create and present detailed credit opinions and market analyses based on comprehensive financial review and pricing models.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal analysts, portfolio managers, and external market stakeholders.
  • Engage actively in professional development opportunities, including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • Solid communication skills and 1-3 years of experience in fixed income market or credit research.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, or other programming languages.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling, data visualizations, and effective project management.
  • Initiative and drive for continuous learning and financial market engagement.
