Express Scripts Canada, a subsidiary of The Cigna Group, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Engineer to join our IT team. This permanent position is integral to our DBA team, focusing on Business Intelligence (BI) and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.

Role Overview

The BI & ETL Engineer will be responsible for:

• Designing and creating BI interfaces and ETL processes for OLAP data warehouses.
• Providing Level-2 technical support for database programming.
• Performing data analysis and developing forecasting models.
• Developing reports using OBIEE, ODI, and Oracle DB.
• Ensuring high availability of OBIEE, ODI, and Oracle DB through systems administration and change management.
• Performing patching, upgrading, and optimizing processes.

Key Responsibilities

OBIEE

• Participate in designing enterprise-level analytics solutions.
• Plan reporting projects, including requirements analysis, project scoping, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with BI System Analysts to create required reports using tools like OBIEE and BI Publisher.
• Develop visualization tools including dashboards, scorecards, and scheduled reports.
• Analyze and optimize queries, review OLAP data structures for tuning overall design.
• Document and perform OBIEE administration processes and policies.

ODI

• Perform detailed data analysis for OLAP and ETL jobs.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot ETL jobs.
• Provide data cleansing input to application developers and coach DBAs for ETL job troubleshooting.
• Document and publish ETL jobs and processes.

Oracle DBA

• Develop Oracle databases using SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle DBs.
• Carry out patching and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with the Data Architect on schema changes.

Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level BI applications.
• 3+ years of experience in designing ETL jobs, preferably with ODI.
• 3+ years of experience in Oracle database support, maintenance, and development using PL/SQL and SQL.

Desired Qualifications

Additional skills and experience include:

• Experience with RHEL systems, WebLogic, and Fusion Middleware.
• Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems, storage systems, and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
