Position Overview

The Research Data Management Team at DTU Biosustain is seeking a part-time assistant to support our day-to-day activities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our researchers. You will engage with researchers at all levels, aiding them from onboarding to publication by suggesting best practices and facilitating their adoption.

Key Responsibilities

The primary task will be to support the Research Data Steward and the LIMS Administrator within the Team. This includes:

  • Contributing to the development of best practices and improving existing workflows
  • Managing maintenance tasks in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) software (Benchling), such as:
    • Adding or removing users/entities
    • Setting up new teams in the system
  • Assisting in the preparation of Research Data Management (RDM) training sessions by:
    • Setting up workshop facilities
    • Preparing and updating materials
    • Collecting feedback and creating surveys
    • Occasionally conducting parts of the training sessions based on your background and experience

Our Expectations

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A background in biotechnology with a general understanding of molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, cloning, OMICS)
  • Strong communication skills and experience in engaging with other researchers

Salary and Appointment Terms

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations, with the allowance agreed upon with the relevant union. Average working hours are 12-15 per week, and can be organized flexibly around holidays, exams, etc. The starting date is September 1st, 2024, or by mutual agreement. The workplace is located at DTU Biosustain, DTU Lyngby Campus.
