Essential Responsibilities
As a Pediatric Scientist in MR, you will:
- Combine knowledge of MRI, engineering, and clinical needs to design and develop new MR pediatric applications aimed at automating and simplifying MR exams, while improving the reliability of patient setup, data acquisition, image reconstruction, analysis, and interpretation.
- Serve as the technical lead on collaborative projects with academic partners, ensuring alignment with GE HealthCare’s roadmap and goals.
- Develop concepts into prototypes and release them to external GE HealthCare collaborators, adhering to formal MR design controls.
- Work with cross-functional teams of engineers and scientists to translate promising prototypes into new products, leading technical and clinical risk management towards new product introduction.
- Conduct original research resulting in patent applications and scientific publications.
- Provide technical expertise and support for various projects with internal and external collaborators.
- Effectively communicate technical analyses, results, and ideas to GE HealthCare leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
- 4+ years of post-Master's experience.
- Strong knowledge of MR Physics, pulse sequences, and image reconstruction.
- Proven experience in MR research and development.
- Substantial experience in software design, implementation, and coding.
- Foundation in machine learning and artificial intelligence theories.
- Outstanding writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- A can-do attitude, flexibility, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to work with cross-functional, global teams.
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. in an engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, or Physics.
- Knowledge of emerging Non-Cartesian Acquisition/Reconstruction Techniques, motion correction techniques, and MR image artifacts.
- Experience working in a clinical environment.
- Experience developing machine learning packages with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Scala, Java, MATLAB).
- Experience with Machine Learning development libraries such as TensorFlow and Keras.
- Familiarity with GE MR Systems and the GE EPIC Pulse Sequence Development Environment and GE Orchestra Reconstruction Environment.
