DTU Energy's Autonomous Materials Discovery (AMD) section is seeking a highly skilled candidate for a PhD scholarship focused on data analytics and atomistic simulations within energy materials and devices. Explore this unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and set the foundation for transformative technologies.
As part of the PhD program, you will be instrumental in developing a sophisticated data infrastructure capable of handling diverse data sources from multi-scale models, AI techniques, and robotic experiments. Your work will significantly impact the creation of autonomous workflows that integrate multi-scale simulations and robotics, which are essential to the core technologies in batteries and catalysts.
Desirable candidates should demonstrate expertise in computational/theoretical physics, chemistry, or materials science, with a particular focus on materials modelling. Strong spoken and written English communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to independently drive project progress and uphold the quality of work.
Candidates must possess a two-year master’s degree or equivalent, with 120 ECTS points in physics, chemistry, or engineering.
Work alongside approximately 25 PhD students and postdocs under the guidance of four principal investigators. You will also collaborate on major national and Horizon Europe projects, such as BIG-MAP, BATTERY 2030+, DECODE, and BatCAT, engaging with cutting-edge technologies and digital twins for battery manufacturing.

The PhD scholarship follows the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations' agreements. The appointment for this scholarship will be for a 3-year period, aiming for a start date of September 1st, 2024.
