PhD Scholarship in Energy Management of Energy Flexibility Assets in Sports Facilities – DTU Construct
In collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is excited to offer a new PhD position titled “Energy Flexibility Assets in Sports Facilities: Opportunities and Challenges.” This prestigious position provides the chance to earn a dual PhD degree from both DTU and NTNU.
Joining DTU will not only place you at the forefront of advanced energy management research but also involve you in the Nordic sports facility industry through collaboration with the Centre for Sports Facilities and Technology (SIAT). This project specifically focuses on optimizing energy use and indoor climate control in public swimming pools, known for their high energy consumption.
The aim is to develop an AI-based energy management system for swimming pools, leveraging their distinct technical properties to enhance energy flexibility while maintaining optimal indoor climate conditions. The role includes collaboration with industrial partners and access to SIAT’s network of facilities and advanced software tools like IDA ICE.

You must hold a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
