Position Overview: Philanthropy Associate, Northwestern Memorial Foundation

The Philanthropy Associate plays a vital role within the Northwestern Memorial Foundation (NMF) by coordinating and administering fundraising initiatives aligned with the health system’s strategic goals. Ideal candidates will support our mission to deliver outstanding care and experiences, advance medical knowledge, and enhance resources through raising funds, donor cultivation, and fostering a philanthropic culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute philanthropic projects, including development and implementation of work plans, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships across donors, volunteers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
  • Address and escalate project issues, developing solutions and mitigation strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Drive communication among team members and stakeholders to facilitate continuous knowledge exchange and project updates.
  • Contribute to project planning and management processes in collaboration with senior management.
  • Create and manage essential project documentation and communications.
  • Participate actively in professional development to enhance leadership and technical skills.
  • Represent NMF in donor-related events and activities, managing interactions with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Use data-driven metrics to evaluate project impacts and meet objectives.

Addendum: Philanthropy Associate, Data Management (Annual Giving Program)

This role entails expert management of our CRM platform, focusing primarily on supporting the Annual Giving Program through data analysis, reporting, and manipulation to enhance direct response fundraising efforts.

  • Analyze and manage complex data sets to support strategic fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Annual Giving Team to understand and support campaign objectives.
  • Ensure data integrity and cleanliness to facilitate successful donor outreach and segmentation.
  • Participate in process improvements and operational enhancements.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience with at least 3 years in fundraising, healthcare, or a similar field.
  • Preferred: Experience in nonprofit management and annual giving programs.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects efficiently under tight deadlines.
