Senior Photogrammetric Engineer (Research Scientist II) Job Opportunity

About the Position

KBR is actively seeking a seasoned Senior Photogrammetric Engineer with 12+ years of experience. You will be a key player on a multi-disciplinary team that supports various government customers in the Washington Metropolitan Area, specializing in photogrammetry, computer vision, remote sensing, and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a diverse team of photogrammetrists, computer vision scientists, systems engineers, and software developers to implement mathematical models of remote sensing collection systems.
  • Assist in the development of sensor models for new data collection systems and methods.
  • Evaluate and compare new geospatial collection systems.
  • Investigate new methods for registering and adjusting geospatial data.
  • Provide technical assistance in developing new standards for geospatial data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with CI Poly.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in photogrammetry, computer vision, electrical engineering, computer science, math, or other related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience with CSM API.
  • Demonstrated expertise in areas such as:
    • Photogrammetry
    • Triangulation
    • Image registration and fusion
    • Relative mensuration
    • Geolocation
    • Coordinate conversions (e.g., ECI to ECEF datum changes)
    • Training and development
    • NSG coordinate systems and specifications
  • Proficiency in prototyping algorithms using Matlab, Python, C/C++, or C#.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in writing software utilizing Rational Polynomial Coefficients (RPCs) and applying RPCs for historical remote sensing data analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in geospatial data product and geolocation testing software and evaluation techniques.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in related disciplines (e.g., photogrammetry, computer science, math, or engineering).
  • 5+ years of experience with Socet GXP, ENVI, and RemoteView.
  • Strong background in linear algebra.
  • Experience processing geospatial data in a cloud environment.
  • Published author in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience working with DoD/IC environments.
